Delivery times in Canada

There are two of us behind IFB: Dasha picks the makeup, Vlad counts things. This page is what happens when Vlad gets curious. He wrote a little program and timed all our delivered Canadian orders, from our very first parcel in December 2023 to this summer, from the moment an order is placed to the moment the box reaches the door. No carrier estimates, no guessing: this is what actually happened.

One thing to know about the numbers: they are real days, not business days. Weekends, holidays and our packing time are all counted. A new palette does not care that it is Sunday.

Where you are Usually at your door in 9 out of 10 orders within
Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley 2-3 days 5 days
Vancouver Island and BC Interior 3-4 days 6 days
Alberta 4-5 days 7 days
Saskatchewan and Manitoba 5-6 days 10 days
Ontario 6-8 days 11 days
Quebec 7-8 days 11 days
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland 8-9 days 12 days
Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut 8-9 days 13 days

It keeps getting quicker, too: a typical Toronto order arrived more than a day faster in 2026 than in 2024.

For our Lower Mainland neighbours

Living close to us comes with a perk. Here is the week for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, counted from the moment you place the order, whatever the hour:

You order on At your door next day Within two days Within four days
Monday 26% 80% 91%
Tuesday 41% 93% 95%
Wednesday 36% 85% 91%
Thursday 37% 50% 80%
Friday 15% 15% 81%
Saturday 0% 0% 96%
Sunday 0% 61% 97%

The trick behind that "next day" column is the afternoon pickup: get an order in by early afternoon, Monday to Thursday, and it usually leaves us the same day and lands the next. Weekend orders sit with us until Monday, then catch up fast. And this covers the whole metro, from North Van to Surrey, Langley and out to Abbotsford, not just Vancouver proper.

We noticed it before we measured it: an order placed on a Tuesday, and by Wednesday the unboxing is already in your stories. Vlad ran the numbers to be sure we were not imagining it. We were not.

When your order leaves us

We pack every order ourselves in Squamish, BC. Our promise is 1-2 business days to ship, and most orders beat it: about two thirds are boxed and labelled within 24 hours of being placed. The carriers take weekends off though, so a Friday evening order sits out the weekend with us first. If you are impatient (we understand), ordering early in the week can shave a day or so off the totals above.

And if you shop the way most makeup people do, a little something every time a shade catches your eye, we are happy to hold your parcels and ship everything together in one box. Just ask (before you place the order, so we know not to ship it just yet).

Picking a shipping option

On speed, Canada Post and UPS finish in a near tie almost everywhere, usually within half a day of each other, so pick whichever you like better. Purolator is the exception: east of Manitoba it tends to run a day or two behind the other two.

Express is where it gets interesting. West of Ontario, standard shipping is already quick, so express buys you very little. In Ontario and Quebec it is the opposite: Xpresspost cuts the wait roughly in half, to about 3-4 days. If you need your look ready by a specific date, that is the one.

The fine print

Everything here is what really happened between December 2023 and August 2026, not a promise. Snow happens, December happens, and once in a while the carriers have a week we would all rather forget. Only 13 orders have ever made the trip to the territories, so that row is one swatch, not the whole palette. And this page covers Canadian orders only; for international shipping, insurance and the rest of the practical details, see our shipping policy.
