Use and storage

- A good primer is recommended to increase wear time and avoid shimmer fallout and creasing. Please be aware of this before purchasing.
- Some shades in this palette may stain skin.
- Direct sunlight will wash the colour-shifting shades. Natural and low light best displays the colours.

This is a really nice palette, and the colour story is right up my alley. The mattes are perfectly buildable--not so intense on initial application, but you can build them up for impact, and they don't really get muddy when you blend them. There are several types of shimmer, metallic, duochrome and "sequin" formulae. The sequin (shade Eclipse) is basically a matte with sparkles in it, and unlike many other brands with a similar shadow, this one keeps its sparkle even when blending, which is great. The shades Stargazer, Ethereal Plane and Lucidity are a bit more putty-like in consistency, which means a little goes a long way for impact, and best applied with a finger. For maximum impact, I recommend wetting your brush when applying Milky Way and Cosmic Dust, otherwise, they are better as topper shades.
If I have a quibble, it's that the hype from influencers made me think Ensley Reign's eyeshadows would blow me out of the water with their unique finishes, and they are nothing that different from other indie brands in my collection. For reference, I have shadows and palettes from Adept, Clionadh, Nomad, Kaleidos, Oden's Eye, Cosmic Brushes and Blend Bunny (to name a few). If your collection looks like mine, you will probably enjoy Ensley Reign, but just don't expect anything revolutionary. If you don't have a huge indie collection, I highly recommend this palette.
